Prostate Fusion Biopsy - Patient Experience: Dr. Jim Hu - Weill Cornell Medicine

Описание к видео Prostate Fusion Biopsy - Patient Experience: Dr. Jim Hu - Weill Cornell Medicine

This video was filmed for educational purposes, to give patients a better idea of what to expect when scheduled for a prostate fusion biopsy.

A prostate fusion biopsy using the Artemis device is an advanced tool used to detect prostate cancer and track the progression of the disease over time. A fusion between a prostate MRI and an ultrasound generates a 3D image of the prostate. This enables the physician to accurately target the specific areas of the prostate for a biopsy that have been identified as regions of interest (potential for cancer). Since prostate cancer is often located in multiple, but not all, regions of the prostate, it is of great advantage to be able to sample tissue with precision. Additionally, the Artemis allows biopsy points to be saved so that patients can return for a repeat biopsy and track progression of prostate cancer over time with great detail and accuracy.

The physician in this video is Dr. Jim C. Hu of Weill Cornell Medicine.
