DIY DVD GPS map drive cleaning: Toyota Denso JBL DVD map drive in GPS Navigation units E7007 - E7013

Procedure to remove and clean the DVD GPS map navigation drive. Fails to load the disc complete because the insert rollers are dirty or not gripping.

See detailed steps to remove and clean the using so DVD will start reading again. Once DVD can be read, the unit will proceed with starting up and working.

Also, when you have DVD drive open look at the row of gears on the left. The black gear closest to the rear sometimes breaks. Push down the rollers and spin the motor to see if any teeth are missing. If they are missing, you will need to replace the while DVD drive. See below.
