Hello everyone, welcome to SA Today on 6 January 2026. We begin today's video with an intense fire in Pearly Beach and Mossel Bay area in the Western Province of South Africa today. Everyone reached safety with only minor injuries reported so far. Heavy rain in Kruger National Park, near Satara Rest Camp. More rain in Pretoria, Deneysville and Potchefstroom today. Horse riding on the beach at Paternoster. We visit Lanzerac Hotel and Spa in Stellenbosch. Hailstorm in Rustenburg. Stand on top of the Valley of Desolation at Graaff Reinet. Along the N3 at Van Reenen we visit the Little Church Tea Garden. The Olifants River remains in flood within Kruger National Park, and we show you more from across SA Today.

The weather forecast across South Africa today is as follows:
The South African Weather Service has issued a Yellow Level 1 warning for damaging winds along the coast from Cape Point to Plettenberg Bay, where mariners should expect challenging navigation conditions at sea. Additionally, extremely high fire danger conditions threaten several interior regions, including Khai-Ma and Kai Garib municipalities in the Northern Cape Province, the Central and Little Karoo areas of the Western Cape Province at Mossel Bay and Pearly Beach, and across the Eastern Cape Province, prompting authorities to urge residents to exercise extreme caution with any potential ignition sources.

Also in this video, is traffic at Beaufort West from Cape Town side. A queue more than 10 km going into town. We end the video with a drive through Pretoria in the Gauteng Province of South Africa.
