Sayonara... arguably the most insidiously meme'd music in the history of sound; memes of which, thanks to the wonders of the internet, have made Sayori's death out to be nothing more than a joke. I suppose it's funny though, if you're Monika... but most people aren't. Most people are living in a reality in which consequences are not simply rewritten, character files simply restored to their proper, less-diabolical-than-they-otherwise-would-be order, but what am I saying. The track is devastating when you first hear it, and rightly so. The jarring discordant notes clashing with the sinister remix of the usually-cheerful main theme of Doki Doki Literature Club is nothing short of twisted... especially since, in a most disturbing sense, Monika's deranged amusement and indifference to the suffering she created perfectly resonates with the hellish tones and overall warped energy of the piece; perpetually overflowing, perpetually nauseating, perpetually laughing its hollow, witless laughter...

It is a wonder I managed to capture half the darkness of the original...
