The Women's American Cup is one of the strongest women's tournaments in the United States, featuring a double-elimination bracket and two time controls.

FORMAT
The Women's American Cup consists of a double-elimination bracket, with each bracket featuring a different time control.

Championship Bracket
• Matches consist of two games of classical chess
• Time control: 90+30
• If a player loses a match in the Championship Bracket, they move to the Elimination Bracket
• The player who wins the Championship Bracket receives the $9,000 bonus prize

Elimination Bracket
• Matches consist of two games of rapid chess
• Time control: 25+10

Playoffs
• Two-game blitz match with a 3+2 time control
• Another two-game blitz match
• An armageddon game where White gets 3+2, and Black gets 2+2 and draw odds

PRIZES
The American Cup Women's features a $150,000 prize fund.

LOCATION
The American Cup takes place at the Saint Louis Chess Club in St. Louis, United States.
