Camper with rear bunk layout for families. Wildax Solaris XL In this video, I provide a walkthrough of the 2026 Wildax Solaris XL. Built on the 6.36m Fiat Ducato LWB chassis, this model is one of the few van conversions engineered specifically for families, offering four belted travel seats and four permanent berths without a pop-top or daily bed-rebuild.

Detailed Competitor Analysis (6.36m Length)
Adria Twin Supreme 640 SLB (2026)
The Adria uses longitudinal twin beds. It is primarily a 2-berth van. To match the Solaris XL’s 4-berth capacity, I would have to choose the "Sports" version with a pop-top, which increases vehicle height and reduces payload. The Solaris XL offers a larger fridge (152L vs Adria’s 138L).
Pössl Road Cruiser (2026)
The Pössl features the "Raumbad" central shower that uses the aisle space. It offers a higher internal ceiling in H3 variants but is a 2+1 berth layout. The Solaris XL is better for families as the rear bunks are permanent and do not block the aisle or kitchen during use.
Malibu Van First Class Two Room 640 LE
Malibu focuses on premium cabinetry and a "two-room" concept with a changing area. It is designed for couples. The Solaris XL includes "UK-spec" amenities as standard, such as a full oven and grill, which are often expensive options or unavailable on the Malibu.
Elddis Whirlwind GTV 563 (2026)
The Elddis is a budget-focused 3-berth (4-belt) model on a Peugeot Boxer chassis. It lacks the fourth permanent berth found in the Wildax. The Solaris XL provides higher-grade winterisation (Grade 3) and a 152L fridge, compared to the 90L unit in the Elddis.
Dreamer D68 Select (2026)
The Dreamer uses a "Modul’Space" wardrobe system that swings into the shower. It is a 3-berth layout with modular twin beds. The Solaris XL is more practical for four people as it provides two permanent, full-length rear bunks (up to 6'8"), whereas the Dreamer requires a make-up bed in the lounge.
Knaus BoxLife 630 ME (2026)
The Knaus features a manual lifting bed in the rear for a large storage garage. While flexible for bikes, the Solaris XL layout is more family-centric. The Wildax includes a 160W solar panel and ceramic toilet as standard, which are typically optional extras on the Knaus.
