This is a 1.5 - 1.75 meter snake that is one of my favorites. See the colors on this thing? I just posted a couple of photos of the snake too at www.ThailandSnakes.com you can check out.

These snakes bite, and when they do - it's a nasty bite. They have strong jaws and big teeth to hold rats in their mouth that are trying to get away.

Gonyosoma oxycephalum are really rather mild-mannered for a rat snake, and they are able to be hand-held as long as you don't bring anything near their face. Occasionally they'll bite an arm that is near their face - for no apparent reason.

Red Tailed racer snakes from Thailand are brilliant green and have blueish eyes and a blue bottom of their tongue. Very nice coloring. This one had shed not too long ago so the colors were pretty bright.
