Meet Dana Hext, founder of Empower RV near Houston, Texas, and a proud graduate of the National RV Training Academy (NRVTA). Dana’s story is one of passion, perseverance, and purpose — combining her love of camping, family adventure, and a desire to help others gain independence on the road.

After completing the RV Inspector Course at NRVTA, Dana launched a successful inspection business, which she ran for six to eight months. But she didn’t stop there — in January 2022, she returned to complete her Certified RV Technician training, taking one course at a time while balancing family life. Over six months, she gained the knowledge and confidence to inspect, maintain, and repair RVs — all while building a thriving business that empowers others, especially women travelers, to take control of their RV experience.

Today, Dana uses her skills as both a teacher and technician to educate women across the country about RV inspections, solar installations, and DIY RV repair, showing that this career path is flexible, profitable, and fulfilling.
