Another real treasure from Graziano Corelli (Franco's close friend and second cousin): Franco in Verdi's Il trovatore. Rare photos abound of the most beautiful Manrico ever, but the real treat this time is a very rare - and brilliant - home rehearsal of the "Pira", which - as far as I know - other than this video by Graziano, has never been published elsewhere (not even with the Landini book, as the CD attachment accompanying the book contains a different recording)!
The "Ah, si ben mio..." and the "Di quella pira..." you hear in the first half of the video is from the 1962 Salzburg Trovatore, conducted by Herbert von Karajan.

Un altro vero tesoro di Graziano Corelli (amico stretto e cugino di secondo grado di Franco): Franco ne Il trovatore di Verdi. Abbondano le foto rare del più bel Manrico di sempre, ma la vera chicca questa volta è una rarissima - e geniale - prova fatta in casa della "Pira", che - per quanto ne so - a parte questo video di Graziano, non è mai stata pubblicata altrove (nemmeno con il libro di Landini, poiché l'allegato CD che accompagna il libro contiene una registrazione diversa)!

L'"Ah, si ben mio..." e la Pira che si sente nella prima metà del video è dal Trovatore di Salisburgo del 1962, diretto da Herbert von Karajan.
