Sri Lanka is a nation of many languages so you will often spot signs written in three main scripts: Sinhala, Tamil, and the Latin alphabet (for English). Sinhala is the most notable of these three as it's distinctively very "curvy". Some GeoGuessr players describe the characters in this script as looking like drawings of fruit, which isn't as big of a stretch of the imagination as you might think!

Sri Lanka paints many of its sign posts in alternating stripes of white and black, which is also a feature you might see across the globe in Peru.
