As a part of my studies, we were required to take a game issue, and create content addressing one of the chief issues that reduces the quality of the experience, addressing the root causes, and finding ways to remedy this issue. While we weren't required to find specific fixes with numerical adjustments, we simply needed to address the weaknesses that could be remedied to improve that experience.


This is my first time editing a video from start to finish, in addition to actually recording any voice over content, and I hope you enjoy it. It's pretty wordy, so if you can't get through it, I'll give you a short summary: Balancing a game is hard, and the length of time between updates at CIG means that reacting to each balance issue after a release is pretty impractical. With the new systems CIG is working on, it is my hope that they use these systems to proactively balance the PvP combat in SC from a flight, durability, and weapon perspective, while maintaining reflection on what data shows about these engagements and encounters. No system is perfect, but we can strive for something close, and I believe CIG has the talent and the work ethic to bring this system to its full potential.
