How OneBox is Transforming Primary Healthcare for Mothers and Children Through Technology

Stockouts in Primary Health Centers have adversely contributed to maternal and infant deaths in African communities, where these facilities serve as the first point of care for the majority of the population.

The OneBox project, championed by BOAT Foundation and powered by LifeBank’s innovative technology, is transforming this reality by leveraging artificial intelligence to predict stockouts and streamline requisition processes for PHCs.

Currently piloting in Kaduna, Yobe, and Kano, the project is empowering community care centers to reduce stockouts, while strengthening the capacity of Drug Management Agencies to monitor stock levels and take timely action—saving mothers and children from preventable deaths. The technology is accessible to frontline workers via a mobile app and USSD, ensuring ease of adoption at every level.
