Bartari (Scranton, PA), arcade walkthrough & tour, April 2024

On my recent day trip up to Scranton to check out the new D&B, I stopped in at this combination bar/restaurant/arcade right near the Steamtown Mall, and was thoroughly impressed. This actually ended up being my favorite stop of the trip, with an excellent selection of classic 20th century retro games and a wide variety of rare and limited edition pinball machines. All the games are coin-operated, taking between 1 and 4 quarters a play, just like the good old days. There's even a pool table, bubble hockey, and Skee-Ball to mix things up a little bit. Highlights for me included the excellently maintained gigantic 6 player X-Men cabinet, Silent Scope X, Toobin, Mappy, Food Fight, and the new pins like Labyrinth, Looney Tunes, Pulp Fiction, Scooby-Doo, and Elton John. If I'm back up in the Scranton area again in the future, there's no question about it -- I'll be back!
