You are viewing a rare Steinway and Sons Grand Piano – Model L, originally made in 1936. The piano was acquired from the NYC apartment and Estate of one of the highly esteemed pianists, Peter Serkin.

The instrument was meticulously restored in 2024 by the finest Steinway restoration craftsman available. The piano has the original ivory and ebony keys that are in outstanding condition. The piano includes a matching adjustable artist bench.

The piano measures 5'10½" (179 cm) in length. This wonderful artist grand is suitable for both professional and home settings where space might be limited but a high-quality grand piano is desired. The Steinway Model L is praised for its warm, full-bodied sound. Its size allows it to produce a robust bass while still offering a clear and singing treble. This makes it a versatile instrument suitable for a range of musical styles, from classical to jazz.
The restoration included a beautiful ebony satin finish, refinishing of the soundboard and plate, new strings, new pins and the original solid brass hardware, polished to perfection. The hammers and dampers were replaced an estimated 10 years ago and are in excellent condition.
