-A Rajasthani Marwari named Haldiram created India’s biggest snack company, Haldiram’s, which earns more than foreign brands like McDonald’s and Domino’s.
-I heard this story in an Audible book, which explains that Haldiram was born in Bikaner and learned to make bhujia at the age of 12, selling it for 2 rupees.
-How did the business grow from 2 rupees to 4000 crores? Traditional bhujia was made from besan and was thick, but Haldiram innovated by using Rajasthani moth dal to make it thinner.
-The real challenge came when a family split occurred, and Haldiram was ousted from his own business. A childhood friend gave him 100 rupees.
With this money, Haldiram started selling moong dal and never looked back.
