I Fired Them (Reasons Why & How I Told Them)

One thing that is important to determine in any business is the tipping point at which the time, labor, and materials needed to complete a job is no longer worth the payoff. This client made several decisions that pushed the scale out of my favor. This is why I fired them, and how I told them.

Firing a client (also known as dropping a client) happens for any number of reasons in the lawn care industry. I have dropped a client because they wanted their grass cut at 2" when a huge portion of their yard had roots jutting up above 2". Obviously I couldn't meet that request.

Another client was fired when they put in a locked gate but I couldn't get a key and would have to schedule my visits around them being home. Not a viable option, especially during the Florida summers when rain can wreck a schedule every day.
