The earliest surviving video footage of British Columbia, recorded by Billy Bitzer on October 18th 1899, 10 days before the "Frazer Canon" film on Youtube claiming to be the oldest. The footage was filmed beside Mount Stephen and goes through the Mt Stephen Train Tunnel in Kicking Horse Canyon, just west of Banff in eastern BC.

There was reportedly another film made in BC a year or two prior, but no copy of it has been found. No edits have been made by me, the original file received from the archive was uploaded directly, and when asked by them which format I'd like it in, I requested the highest quality/bitrate digital option.

Description: The camera was mounted on the front of a railroad train travelling over a single track through mountainous country. On both sides of the track is the slope of the mountains, covered with snow and the river running alongside the grade can also be seen.
