There are lots of directions it could go - you just need to specify which one will work best for your application. This is Chet. We’re looking at discharge of a fan. So why does discharge matter? You have to connect to something off the outlet of your fan if you want your air to go somewhere. So in this case, you have a discharge right here that would be sending the air up. So your ductwork off the fan is going straight up to start with, and then you can turn it off wherever you want. So how do you want to specify your discharge for your application? This is the base zero, or 360 degree, configuration. It is going straight up - this is called an up-blast 360 degree discharge. As we move this way with our discharge and rotate it so the discharge would be pointing out that way, that would be a 90 degree discharge. If we rotated it all the way around to point down, it’s a 180 degree discharge. As we point it out in a bottom horizontal discharge here, that’s a 270 degree discharge. All of the angles in between, there’s a 45 degree top angular up, 135 degree top angular down, a 315 degree bottom angular up. So just specify the one that works for your application.
