Shagufta Rafique's life story is a testament to turning pain into art. At just 11 years old, poverty forced her to dance at private parties, and later, she entered a life of struggle to support her family. With no family left, Shagufta was lost until she met filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt in 2002. He told her, "You don't need a degree; your life is your biggest book." These words changed everything. Shagufta began writing, pouring her pain and experiences onto the page. Her scripts for films like Woh Lamhe and Murder 2 were raw and real, reflecting the dark world she had known. Her biggest success, Aashiqui 2, became a national phenomenon, with a story inspired by the loss and pain of her own life.
