Stone Tablet Innovations is interested in a new approach to controlling IOT devices. This Video will show you how to securely connect the ESP32 Development board to a WiFi router and securely connect to a website called howsmyssl.com. Once negotiated and connected, this website supports the HTTPS Get command. The program does this and reports on which version of TLS was used to connect. The “IP Connection with mbed Transport Layer Security” program is built, loaded and monitored from a Windows 10 computer. The program uses configuration information stored in sdkconfig that you enter through the python program menuconfig.

This blog assumes the ESP-32 Hardware is already connected to a COM port on the Windows 10 computer. More detail on this hardware connection is shown in Video Blogs 3 and 4. Video 810 demonstrates the entire toolchain including C Compiler, CMAKE and Ninja linkers as well as the bootloader commands.

Finally, the results of the program are shown through the idf monitor
