New! https:/ralphbacon.blog

If you want your Arduino to detect sound or noise then a low-noise 2-stage microphone preamplifier is what you need. Yes, a return to analog components that are cheap and easy to use. Furthermore, this preamplifier can be adjusted for overall gain just by changing a single resistor. A circuit diagram is included but we'll discuss it in more depth in a future video.

Talking of resistors, I've had some terrible problems with a whole bunch (all 560 pieces) that I bought recently - what to do with them? They are absolutely no good to me at all. Bin them or use them, you tell me! Grrr!

But I've discovered, quite accidentally, some beautiful 3mm, multi-colour LEDs that cycle through many colours all automatically, then when it gets bored with flashing the colours it switches to fading between them instead. Beautiful, but totally useless for the original purpose I wanted to use them for! At least I will be able to use these in a future project unlike those terrible resistors.

I've also shown a couple of other items that I purchased recently that you may find useful in your Arduino projects too, it is amazing what our friends in the Far East keep coming up with. Jolly good thing that they do though!
