Maryland’s historic $1.6 billion tax and fee hike has a silver and gold coin business saying it believes its shiny future in the state is rapidly dulling.

Brett Stelfox, the executive operations manager at Gold Eagle Coins in Laurel, Md., told Spotlight on Maryland on Wednesday that a new 6% sales tax on bullion – what the industry calls silver and gold coins – has been devastating for his family’s company since the tax took effect on July 1.
