White people are pretty bland..." Karl Stevanovic talks to NITV News' Natalie Ahmat

A call today for Australian media to do more to ensure fair representation of Indigenous peoples in the public realm.
“Today” Show host Karl Stefanovic spoke with ‪#‎NITV News‬’ Natalie Ahmat about this issue, saying that “fundamentally, white people are pretty bland .. they’re pretty beige … and the more difference you have in colour, in accent, in race, in humour, in belief, I think the richer you are.”
This follows #NITVNews’ invitation to Karl to have a conversation about a segment on the “Today” show on Wednesday, in which a panel of four non-Indigenous people discussed the SBS/NITV’s “First Contact” series. No First Nations person was included on that panel. Karl says there was no thought given to that, and asked after the segment “Why are we doing this?”
