Simba is a fictional character and the main protagonist of Disney's 1994 animated feature film, The Lion King. He is a lion and the son of Mufasa, the king of the Pride Lands. The story follows Simba from his childhood, as he is groomed to become the next king, to his adulthood, as he learns to accept his responsibilities and reclaim his rightful place as the king of the Pride Lands.

Simba is known for his courage, loyalty and leadership. He is raised by his father Mufasa to be the king of the Pride Lands, but after his father's death, Simba runs away and lives in self-imposed exile, believing that he is responsible for his father's death. With the help of new friends Timon and Pumbaa, he learns to let go of his past and return to the Pride Lands to defeat his uncle Scar and take his rightful place as king.

Simba is voiced by Matthew Broderick in the original film, and is voiced by Donald Glover in the 2019 live-action version of the film. The character of Simba and the story of the Lion King have become iconic in popular culture and have been featured in several sequels, spin-offs, and a Broadway musical.
