APPLE SAGO KHEER

Ingredients

2 medium red apples, grated
1 cup sago (sabudana), soaked for 1 hour and drained
3 cups full fat milk
2 tsps Milky Mist Ghee
1 tbsp + ¼ cup castor sugar
½ cup Milky Mist UHT Cream
1 tbsp chopped cashew nuts
1 tbsp chopped almonds
A large pinch of green cardamom powder
Saffron strands for garnish

Method

1. Heat milk in a deep non-stick.
2. Heat Milky Mist Ghee in a non-stick pan. Add the apples and 1 tbsp sugar and sauté for 2-3 minutes or till the moisture evaporates. Allow it to cool completely.
3. Add the sago and mix well. Cook till it is cooked completely and the mixture thickens slightly.
4. Add remaining sugar, mix and cook till it melts. Add Milky Mist UHT Cream, mix and cook for a minute on low heat.
5. Add cashew nuts and almonds and mix well. Switch the heat off and allow to cool to room temperature.
6. Transfer the apple mixture to the sago mixture along with green cardamom powder and mix till well combined.
7. Transfer the kheer into a serving bowl, garnish with saffron strands. Serve chilled.
