John Kelsey: Brief update on magnet boxes, including experimenting with color samples using TransTint, baking soda, shimmery powders, and CA
glue, plus recently-turned spalted tamarind boxes.

Sherry Wilets: Bert Delisle scavenged Sherry’s wood pile and transformed a piece of punky wood into a beautiful bowl, using four layers of epoxy flood
coat to stabilize the wood, plus Sherry’s tiny vacuum chuck, and her
bandsaw jig, with extended discussion about the various uses.

Jim Duxbury: Following Sherry’s bandsaw jib, Dux shows some photos of boxes he made using his bandsaw jig, plus a ‘prototype’ of his intersecting
hollow forms (‘follow the lathe as it bounces around the floor’), plus
his tenon ‘jig.’

Bert Delisle: Poignant fire hydrant urn for a recently-departed fireman.
Dennis Belcher: Carving jig to allow a chucked piece to be carved off the lathe.

Dave Potts: Near-retirement high school shop teacher shows three laminated
cherry and walnut bowls with Osmo finish and laser-engraved
bases. Stay tuned next week for slide show on Dave’s ring jigs.

Jim Bowman: With credit to Toby Bouder, Jim shows his punky unidentified spalted wood bowl that he stabilized and dyed using TransTint and Chroma
Craft(?) dyes, and black shoe polish. Discussion included alcohol vs.
water-based dyes, as well as Tandy leather dyes and India Ink.

Mike Peace: Tool rest-mounted carving jig, plus a multi-axis twig pot, with video

coming to YouTube soon!

Jim Duxbury: Following up on the bandsaw chuck jig discussion, Dux shows
photos of one he created (but no longer uses), plus a
recommendation to try a bandsaw blade with alternating 4 tpi and 3
tpi, which gives a very nice finish cut.
