More EU countries, including Slovenia, set to recognise Palestine in coming weeks

Slovenia has started the procedure for its recognition of Palestine, and the government says this will be finalised by mid-June at the latest. Slovenia has been at the forefront in Europe when it comes to calls for an end to Israeli attacks on civilians in Gaza, and is strongly lobbying to speed up the dialogue in the UN on the ceasefire and two-state solution. It comes as more EU countries are thinking about collectively recognising Palestine in the next few weeks.
