The Ireland Digital Atlas is a web app made available through ArcGIS for Schools website (www.teachwithgis.ie) and is designed to be easy to use and to give students an introduction to the power of GIS.

This video presents a short tour of the Teach with GIS Ireland Digital Atlas. Learn where to find the app, how to use it and ideas for incorporating it as a tool into your classrooms. We will go through each of the functions and how to use them and introduce some ideas of how the maps and content can be used to supplement lessons on various topics. Allow your students to get creative and use the edit features to populate a map with text, points, lines and shapes. This app gives access to pre-configured maps on a wide range of subjects and lets you build your own using the curated library of content provided.

ArcGIS for Schools provides free access to Esri’s online digital mapping system, ArcGIS Online, for primary and post-primary schools throughout Ireland.
