🔶 Key Highlights of the Week:

✅ ASPI Surges to All-Time High

The All Share Price Index (ASPI) crossed the 18,500 mark for the first time ever, closing at a record high of 18,541.26, gaining 2.17% during the week.

The S&P SL20 Index followed the same bullish momentum, rising 2.25% to end at 5,486.50.

✅ Turnover & Trading Activity

Weekly turnover stood at LKR 27.5 billion, showing a 19.6% decrease from the previous week due to the shortened trading week (Poya holiday on Thursday).

Banking, capital goods, and diversified financials were the most active sectors.

✅ Foreign Investor Behavior

Foreign investors were net sellers again, recording a net outflow of LKR 1,799Mn.

Foreign purchases: LKR 325Mn
Foreign sales: LKR 2,124Mn
This marks one of the highest net foreign outflows in recent months.

✅ Top Contributors to Market Gains

Major movers this week included:

Sampath Bank PLC (SAMP.N)
Hatton National Bank PLC (HNB.N)
John Keells Holdings PLC (JKH.N)

🔶 Market Sentiment Drivers:

Tariff Relief Boost:

Investors reacted positively to the 30% reciprocal tariff reduction from the U.S. (down from 44%), improving Sri Lanka's export competitiveness.

UK's duty-free access announcement for Sri Lankan apparel further strengthened market sentiment.

Earnings Anticipation:

With the June quarter earnings season approaching, investors are optimistic given the recent favorable macro-economic conditions.
