I tried installing a fireplace lintel for a log burner, but couldn't finish it..

Hi all 👋 This week I finally challenged myself to work on removing bricks from our chimney breast for a concrete prestressed lintel to open it up for a large stove.

Sadly the small one before was far too small, and squashed in a tiny gap and wasn't sufficient enough for our large living and dining room.

But I didn't just dive into this living room makeover, because after removing the 80s fascia brickwork back in May, we noticed the chimney stack was tied into the structural breeze blocks which also support the catnic on the left hand side.

I also hit a brick wall trying to finish it.
