Video Script
Hello, my dear friends. Today, in our Faith Tales, we’re going to hear about something very special — the Ten Commandments. These were laws that God gave to His people long, long ago, to help them know how to live good and happy lives. Let’s listen together from the Bible — the book of Deuteronomy, chapter 5, verses 6 through 21. And after each commandment, I’ll help explain what it means. “I am the Lord thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.” God reminded His people that He rescued them from being slaves in Egypt. He wanted them to know that He loved them and was their God. “Thou shalt have none other gods before me.” God wants us to love Him first, more than anything else. “Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them…” God doesn’t want us to make statues or pictures and pray to them like they’re gods. Only God deserves our worship. “Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain…” We should always speak God’s name with respect, never in a silly or angry way. “Keep the sabbath day to sanctify it, as the Lord thy God hath commanded thee.” God wants us to have one special day each week—a holy day to rest and remember Him. “Honour thy father and thy mother…” God wants us to love and obey our parents, and treat them kindly. “Thou shalt not kill.” God tells us never to hurt people. Every life is precious to Him. “Neither shalt thou commit adultery.” God wants husbands and wives to love and be faithful to each other always. “Neither shalt thou steal.” We should never take things that don’t belong to us. “Neither shalt thou bear false witness against thy neighbour.” We should always tell the truth, and never tell lies about other people. “Neither shalt thou desire thy neighbour’s wife, neither shalt thou covet thy neighbour’s house, his field, or his manservant, or his maidservant, his ox, or his ass, or any thing that is thy neighbour’s.” God wants us to be happy with what we have, and not wish we owned other people’s things. And those, my dear friends, are the Ten Commandments. God gave these commandments because He loves us. They help us know how to love Him and how to love other people. When we try our best to keep God’s commandments, we feel peace and happiness in our hearts. I hope you remember them always, and I’ll see you next time for another Faith Tale. Bye for now, and God bless you! thanks for watching. Please subscribe. It means a lot for our channel.
