Pugs became the official dog of the House of Orange in Holland after rescuing
Prince William by giving him a signal that the Spaniards were coming for him in 1572.
In 1688, William 3 and Mary 2 introduced Pugs to England when they arrived to claim the throne.
The Pug was first registered with the American Kennel Club (AKC) in 1885.
