Midland Railway Butterley - Vintage Train Weekend - 25/08/2024

With September just around the corner, the August Bank Holiday Weekend saw Midland Railway Butterley holding their annual 'Vintage Train Weekend', held over the weekend of the 24th-26th August 2024. The event saw an intensive two train timetable operated by newly overhauled LMS 3F Jinty no.16440 47357) & Class 44 Peak no.44004 'Great Gable'

The event saw 16440 hauling the vintage train, made up of vintage wooden body coaches, some dating back as far as the 1800s, whilst 44004 hauled the BR Mk1 set.
