Описание к видео 【074】16th Note Bass(Low Down/Boz Scaggs)Exercises for Beginners: Simple and Effective Practice

This video is for beginners to practice simple 16th notes.

When beginners first attempt 16th notes, they often find it challenging due to the fast finger movements and the high number of notes. This can make it too difficult to practice effectively. To address this, I have created a set of exercises that allow beginners to experience 16th notes with fewer notes.

• Bass EX 01: Understand the chord progression with half notes. Looping Em and A7.
• Bass EX 02: Master the rhythm and muting with quarter notes and quarter rests.
• Bass EX 03: Master the exact length of notes and muting during rests with eighth notes and eighth rests.
• Bass EX 04: Add a dotted eighth note and a 16th note on the second beat. This small addition gives a 16-beat feel.
• Bass EX 05: Add a hammer-on on the fourth beat. Only this phrase includes a pull-off sound.
• Bass EX 06: Include phrases at the 12th and 14th frets in the second measure. Beginners often count from the low frets, but the 12th fret is marked with two dots.

For beginners, focus on experiencing the practice rather than playing perfectly.

Finally, we combine all the exercises into a complete bass line, resulting in Boz Scaggs’ “Low Down” bass line.
