Bharat Forge Ltd (Kalyani Group) has delivered 126 Kalyani M4 mine-resistant armored vehicles to the Indian Army in less than two years.

Reportedly, Kalyani Group has increased their production line to be able to produce almost 100 units/year at its facility in Pune, IADN reported recently.

Previously, in April 2022, Indian Army Chief of Staff General MM Naravane inaugurated the first use of the Kalyani M4 special tactical vehicle.

Kalyani M4 has ballistic immunity at STANAG 4569 Level 3 and mine and IED explosion protection at STANAG 4569 Level 4a & 4b which is capable of facing an explosion equivalent to 50 kg of TNT from the side.

This large combat vehicle weighing 16 tons is powered by a 465 hp turbo diesel engine. Capable of reaching a maximum speed of 140 km/hour and traveling as far as 800 km.

In the troop transport variant (APC), it can accommodate 10 soldiers including the driver and commander and a payload of up to 2.3 tons.

As a self-defense and combat weapon, the Kalyani M4 can be equipped with a remote control weapon station (RCWS) with a choice of weapons in the form of a 7.62 mm or 12.7 mm caliber machine gun.
