Atharva University – Valnai Metro Station Officially Inaugurated by Union Minister Piyush Goyal, In presence of Sunil Rame Founder & chancellor


Mumbai, September 17, 2025 — In a proud and historic moment for Mumbai’s academic and civic community, the Valnai–Mith Chowky Metro Station was officially renamed and inaugurated as “Atharva University – Valnai Metro Station”.

The renaming ceremony was inaugurated by Hon. Shri Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, in the presence of Sunil Rane, Founder & Chancellor of Atharva University and Ms. Varsha Rane, Vice President of Atharva Foundation.
The event was held at the station premises in Malad (West) and was attended by senior university officials, faculty members, administrative staff, and a large number of students. The atmosphere was filled with pride and celebration as the metro station officially embraced the Atharva University identity.
“This station now stands as a symbol of educational excellence and community contribution. Atharva University has created a meaningful legacy, and today’s inauguration honors that,” said Shri Piyush Goyal during the ceremony.
Shri Sunil Rane expressed gratitude for the recognition, stating that the moment reflects the university’s journey and growing relevance in the city’s academic and civic life.
“It’s not just a name—it’s a representation of our values, our commitment to society, and our vision for future generations,” said Shri Rane.
The event featured the unveiling of the new station signage, media interactions, and student engagement with dignitaries. The renaming marks one of the rare instances in Mumbai where a metro station has been named after a private university, underscoring the institution’s significant role in education and innovation.
Atharva University extends heartfelt thanks to Mumbai Metro authorities, government representatives, and all those who contributed to making this milestone possible.
