荔枝灣（英文：Lychee Bay）是一個河湧，位於廣東省廣州市荔灣區西關泮塘一帶，有二千多年的歷史，歷史上是有名消夏遊樂地，素有小秦淮之稱，荔灣區因此而命名。
荔枝灣是西關湧（包括上西關湧和下西關湧）和荔枝湧幾條河汊的總稱，範圍大致為現時中山八路、荔灣湖公園、西郊等一帶。其位於西關腹地，毗鄰珠江，匯集眾多名人、名園故址，是西關大屋、西關小姐、西關五寶、西關美食及粵劇曲藝等嶺南廣府文化風情薈萃之地，有「小秦淮」、「嶺南第一勝景」之美稱。
相傳在西元前206年，漢高祖劉邦派遣陸賈至廣州向趙佗勸降，當時陸賈在現在的西村為駐地，他在駐地的附近，沿著溪灣種植荔枝及開闢蓮塘，這就是荔枝灣的由來。
唐朝懿宗鹹通年間，嶺南節度使鄭從諦在荔枝洲上構築荔園，荔枝灣因而出名。
五代南漢後主劉𬬮在荔枝灣建造顯德園（今昌華苑），方圓20餘裡，每當荔枝熟時便與群臣遊宴，稱為「紅雲宴」。顯德園已毀於北宋初期。元朝以昌華苑為禦果園，改種檸檬，製成“渴水”，列為著名貢品之一。明朝以後，荔枝灣內庭園結構建築漸多，並由皇朝禁地轉為詩人雅集的勝地。據記載，當時著名的詩社有荔香園、彭園、綺瀾堂、小畫舫齋等，現今只留下小畫舫齋故址。荔枝灣景色迷人，“荔灣漁唱”，成為明代羊城八景之一。
荔枝灣在古代其實不限於今日的泮塘及荔灣湖一帶。明朝的“荔灣漁唱”，有“千里紅雲，八橋畫舫”之稱，可見西關湧外圍都可稱作荔枝灣，北至駟馬湧（又名洗馬或司馬），南至黃沙。劉王花塢在泮溪（塘），唐荔園在鄭公堤江邊。 《乾隆南海縣志》稱：「廣四十里，袤五十里」。今驛馬湧和上西關湧間，仍有「西苑」及荔枝灣地名，表示唐、宋以來園林區所在。今天荔溪東約、南約、西約、簡溪及泮塘五約圍繞的這片古荔枝灣地（荔枝灣故道），當地人稱為舊荔枝灣。

Lychee Bay is the general name for Xiguan Creek (including Upper Xiguan Creek and Lower Xiguan Creek) and several branches of Lichee Creek. The scope is roughly the current Zhongshan Eighth Road, Liwan Lake Park, Xijiao and other areas. It is located in the hinterland of Xiguan, adjacent to the Pearl River, and gathers many celebrities and famous gardens. It is a place where the Lingnan Cantonese culture and customs such as Xiguan mansions, Xiguan ladies, Xiguan five treasures, Xiguan cuisine and Cantonese opera and music are gathered. It is known as the "Little Qinhuai" and "the first scenic spot in Lingnan".
According to legend, in 206 BC, Emperor Gaozu of Han, Liu Bang, sent Lu Jia to Guangzhou to persuade Zhao Tuo to surrender. At that time, Lu Jia was stationed in the present Xicun. He planted lychees and opened lotus ponds along the creek near his station. This is the origin of Litchi Bay.
During the Xiantong period of Emperor Yizong of the Tang Dynasty, Zheng Congdang, the governor of Lingnan, built a lychee garden on Litchi Island, which made Litchi Bay famous.
Liu Xi, the last emperor of the Southern Han Dynasty in the Five Dynasties, built Xiande Garden (now Changhua Garden) in Litchi Bay, which was more than 20 miles in radius. Whenever lychees were ripe, he would have a banquet with his ministers, which was called "Red Cloud Banquet". Xiande Garden was destroyed in the early Northern Song Dynasty. In the Yuan Dynasty, Changhua Garden was used as an imperial orchard, and lemons were planted instead to make "thirst water", which was listed as one of the famous tributes. After the Ming Dynasty, there were more and more garden structures in Litchi Bay, and it was transformed from a forbidden place of the dynasty to a place for poets to gather. According to records, the famous poetry societies at that time included Lixiang Garden, Peng Garden, Qilan Hall, Xiaohuafangzhai, etc., and only the site of Xiaohuafangzhai remains today. Litchi Bay has charming scenery, and "Litchi Bay Fisherman's Song" became one of the eight scenic spots in Guangzhou in the Ming Dynasty.
