In this guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play the chords for "All Day and All of the Night" by The Kinks.

Released in 1964, "All Day and All of the Night" became a huge hit for The Kinks and inspired a lot of the British invasion bands.

In this All Day and All of the Night guitar lesson, you will basically be learning how to slide one major chord shape up and down the fretboard.

The guitar tone and style found in the song was very groundbreaking for it's time. So tune your guitar to standard and kick in a little gain and let's get going!

The major chord form moves around at a very fast tempo in a very strict rhythm. This quick shifting can be made much more easy by positioning your thumb on the back of the neck properly. Try to let your thumb be placed in the middle of the neck. That will help give your fingers plenty of room to stretch and keep them pointed straight up which is ideal for this type of chord shape.

You may want to practice the strict rhythm on just one chord before combining with the different chords. Take your time when putting them together. Remember, the rhythm is probably the most important part of this riff.
