I am really glad that the mortar strike did not kill me. I once infiltrated a rival FOB (not this one), it was on R&D platform and I was playing like how I played in this video and a mortar strike killed me. I was not detected at all. I was very surprised and I supposed amazed because even though I was not detected, the guard who manned the mortar was able to get my rough location and kept firing repeatedly was able to kill me eventually.

I also noticed that close range guards and medium range guards tend to use the mortar during alert status (not combat status) to try to kill the intruder. I think it is quite interesting and powerful defensive strategy because you need to keep moving to avoid being killed or you need to take cover to give the security team a false impression that the mortar strike was successful. I think the general strategy with the mortar is to put pressure on the intruder and the guards to flush out intruder to successfully defend.
