In this Pecha Kucha style talk, Due Quach, author and founder of Calm Clarity and the Collective Success Network, speaks about what "opportunity means to her" at the 2018 Reinventing Our Communities Conference on October 1, 2018.
To Due, opportunity means being a human bridge to join communities. She shares how she uses neuroscience and mindfulness to not only serve as a bridge herself, but to also teach others how to be bridges through Calm Clarity.
About Due Quach
Due is a social entrepreneur who grew up in inner-city Philadelphia, graduated from Harvard College and the Wharton School, and built an international career in management consulting and private equity investments. Having started life in poverty as a refugee, she created Calm Clarity to share the powerful neuroscience-based techniques she developed to heal PTSD, master her mind, and become her best self. Her book, Calm Clarity, is one of Fast Company’s 7 best business books of 2018.
About Calm Clarity
Calm Clarity is a pioneering social enterprise that uses science to empower people of all backgrounds to overcome adversity and develop a mindset for growth, leadership, and resilience. We are committed to fostering socioeconomic inclusion and addressing unconscious bias, social narratives, and limiting patterns that prevent people from realizing their full potential and becoming the highest expression of who they can be.
Through our social impact initiatives, we make sure that under-served groups facing extreme adversity, as well as elite professionals, have access to world-class leadership training. In addition to enabling senior leaders to improve their performance and impact, the effective tools and leadership development we provide has helped many people in very challenging circumstances break self-limiting patterns arising from toxic stress, trauma, and poverty.
The Calm Clarity book, our corporate training, weekend workshop programs, and speaking engagements support our social impact initiatives to deliver Calm Clarity training to low-income first-generation college students, workforce development programs, and non-profit organizations and schools serving low-income communities.
About the Collective Success Network
The Collective Success Network is a volunteer-run Philadelphia-based nonprofit that supports low-income, first-generation (LIFG) college students to achieve their academic and career aspirations through empowering mentorship, professional development, and leadership opportunities. We provide resources, social support, and encouragement to help them to reach their full potential at school, in the world, and in the workforce.
The network connects students with professional mentors, prepares students to enter professional career paths, and collaborates with the wider business community to create innovative solutions to increase college success rates and build a socioeconomically diverse talent pipeline.
