Today’s journey takes 50 minutes from Idaho Falls to Swan Valley - “nestled along the banks of the South Fork of the Snake River, one of the premier fly fishing destinations in North America. With the Big Hole Range to the north, the Caribou Mountains to the south and the Palisades Range to the east, splendid panoramas abound and year-round outdoor activities are a magnet for sportsmen and adventurers.

Fall Creek Falls is located across the Snake River on the South West side of Swan Valley. The waterfall is located right off Forest Service road 058 within the valley. Sitting at 5,280 ft in elevation, the crystal clear waters of Fall Creek plunge over 60 ft into the expansive Snake River below. This waterfall is much wider than it appears and makes for an unforgettable roadside experience.

The only parking lot for this waterfall is along the side of the dirt road and fills up fast. As you explore the top of the falls you will notice a precarious path leading into the heart of this roaring riverside paradise. During the warm summer months many visitors take a dip within the natural ponds below the falls. A large mossy cave lies at the base of the falls and provides the perfect photo opportunity. Sit back and enjoy this wonderful roadside attraction.
