Amritsar police have arrested a 20-year-old for making a hoax call Friday night claiming that four bombs have been installed around Sri Harmandir Sahib.
The police control room received a call on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday around 1.30 am.

"After conveying the information, the caller abruptly ended the call. The control room operator immediately informed the senior officials but subsequent attempts to reach the caller were unsuccessful as the phone was switched off," the police said.

The police soon swung into action and initiated a search operation with a team of bomb disposal experts but no explosives were found. Later, the cybercrime team was able to trace the man who made the hoax call at 5 am and identified him as Gagandeep Singh. A case has been registered against Singh
