I HAVE OFFICIALLY BECOME A FILIPINO...

On Sept 13th, I took my Oath of Allegiance to the Republic of the Philippines. First and foremost I'd like to thank everyone for being a part of this journey... which has only just begun. Today marks the beginning of the most important part of my life. I am ready for this. I am filled with belief, inspiration, gratefulness, and love.

I am so gratefu that Congresswoman Len Alonte from Biñan Laguna administered my Oath. As principal author of the first House Bill... it meant so much to me. This past few years has been the most incredible journey. I am grateful to everyone across the country, and both in Congress and Senate, who not only supported me... but inspired so much belief within me.
It was an incredibly overwhelming moment for me. Even more so having my Titos and Titas from Cebu and Cagayan de Oro in attendance... the Filipino families who took me in, and impacted my life in so many positive ways. To the Canadian Ambassador, His Excellency David Hartman... thank you for being there. Your presence reminded me how important it is to always be proud of where we come from... to always stay connected. I will always be a proud Canadian. As I actively do everything I can to be the best Filipino I can be.

I know my parents would have loved to be with me here today... I will see them in the near future, and look forward to giving them my first big hug as a Filipino citizen! I know they were thrilled to see my girlfriend Therine and barkada cameraman Kumar there with me on this day.

I am now a Filipino Citizen.
