This is a complete guide for Wild Sunflower, Helianthus Annus. The original Wild Sunflower that is native to North America does not get as much attention as it deserves. It's extended bloom time, ruggedness, and how well it draws in wildlife make it a must have for any garden. This plant attracts ridiculous amounts of bees, as well as many other beneficial insects. Birds feast on the seeds, giving you a natural birdfeeder in your yard. This is one of the best plants for attracting birds.

Just plant your seeds about 1/16"-1/8" deep (1.5 mm - 3 mm) after soil temperatures warm up, and keep them moist. Or, start in pots at the same depth.
