WHAT IS GENERAL ASSEMBLY?

General Assembly is a six session Assembly that takes place twice per year in February and October. The General Assembly used to be referred to as the Shout To Jehovah Conference prior to January 2021.

The General Assembly is a time for the faithful to gather together for an entire weekend in February and again in October to praise God and receive divine teachings from the Leadership of the Church.

HOW OFTEN DOES GENERAL ASSEMBLY OCCUR?

The General Assembly has happened the first official weekend of February and October. Beginning in 2026, the General Assembly will take place the first official weekend of April and October.

HOW MUCH DOES THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY COST?

The General Assembly costs nothing to attend in-person. You do need a ticket to gain entrance to the Albuquerque Convention Center where the General Assembly is held, and we do this to ensure everyone has a seat, especially the official Members of the Church.

WHERE IS THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY HELD?

The General Assembly is held both online and in-person. Online, you can find the General Assembly on the Church's official websites including;

You can also tune in on the Church's Facebook and Instagram pages or on YouTube.

If you would rather attend a gathering in person, after first obtaining a ticket, you will simply go to the Albuquerque Convention Center in downtown Albuquerque, New Mexico.

HOW DO I GET A TICKET?

You will need to speak to the Bishopric (Bishop and his two counselors) or the Clerk of your Local Congregation. A Congregation is like a service in your traditional church and normally, there are three to four Congregations in a District (a District consists of six to nine Congregations). You can visit the Church's main website to find out the nearest Congregation to your location. From there, you simply go to that Congregation's meeting time, and speak to either the Bishopric or the Clerk. The Clerk will be behind the Information Desk and the Bishopric will be welcoming the congregation into the Sanctuary and will be available at the conclusion of the meeting.

Of course, if you will be viewing the General Assembly online, you do not need a ticket.

WHAT HAPPENS AT A GATHERING OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY?

The Choir at Church Plaza (formerly known as the Choir at Oasis Church Global Ministries) will begin singing Hymns from the Oasis Church Global Ministries Hymnal one hour prior to each gathering.

Ten minutes prior to the beginning of the General Assembly, the General Authorities of the Church and General Officers of the Church will enter and take their seats on the rostrum (stage). Five minutes later, the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and the First Presidency will enter and take their seats. At thirty seconds before the start of the Assembly, the Choir at Church Plaza will open the gathering as the announcer opens the broadcast that can be heard inside the building.

The opening announcement to the Saturday morning gathering will be as follows:

"Live from the Convention Center in Downtown Albuquerque New Mexico, this is the Saturday Morning Gathering of the Thirteen Annual General Assembly of Oasis Church Global Ministries. Speakers for the Assembly have been selected by the Leaders of the Church. The music for the Assembly will be provided by the Choir at Church Plaza. This is a public broadcast distributed by Everstream Distribution and Publishing. Any reproductive, copying or other use without written consent is prohibited. President Jonathan Davis Fehar, First Counselor in the First Presidency of the Church will conduct this session."

The conductor (either the First Counselor or the Second Counselor in the First Presidency or sometimes an Elder in the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles) will then address the congregants by saying,

"Brothers and Sisters, we welcome you to the Saturday morning gathering of the Thirteenth Annual General Assembly of Oasis Church Global Ministries. We would like to acknowledge the General Authorities and General Officers of the Church who are seated on the rostrum. We extend a gracious welcome to all who are tuning into this broadcast around the world. They are watching by means of the internet, telephone, radio and satellite transmission. President Dominic J Olsen, President of the Church who presides at the Assembly has asked me to conduct this session. The music for this session will be provided by the Choir at Church Plaza under the direction of Music Director Dennis Garcia and Associate Music Director Ryan Shaw with Shawn Ruiz and Kenneth Peoples at the piano. You will notice that three members of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles have been asked to conduct three of the six sessions. We appreciate their help."
