Plant Taxonomy and Identification

Terms and definitions:
King Philip came over for grape soda = Kingdom, Phylum, Class, Order, Family, Genus, Species
Node = Point along the stem at which a leaf or branch emerges from
Internode = Portion of stem between two nodes
Stipule = A small paired usually leaflike outgrowth occurring at the base of a leaf that protects the growing leaf bud
Petiole = Leaf stalk
Serrated edges = Jagged edges
Midrib = Primary vein
Mono-/Di- Cotyledon = Embryonic leaf that appears when a seed germinates
