At just 19, actor and singer Zendaya is considered a role model by women across ages, races, and cultures. This weekend, she joined forces with VH1 Save the Music and Mattel to celebrate the debut of a one-of-a-kind Barbie modeled after her Oscars look. The commemoration was especially meaningful for the star, who created a major teaching moment out of negative comments made around the dreadlocks she sported on the red carpet. "I'm really excited because it shows a lot of young people that when you raise a voice . . . and use your power and your strength in the most positive ways, good things come of it," she told us. Zendaya also reflected on how her parents raised her to feel empowered and her secret to shutting down haters with style and grace.
