With the Sustainable Design in Engineering with Human Factors Course at IIT Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India students learned to use and apply the Design Thinking Process and the Systems Thinking Process, codified by people like Donald Norman, David Kelley, Tim Brown, Horst Rittel, Herbert Simon, and their predecessors like Buckminster Fuller, and Jay Forrester, Donella Meadows, and Peter Senge (not a definitive list). We invite design and engineering students to grapple with "wicked problems" first hand by creating prototypes and testing them iteratively improving the prototypes with the people who are going to be using these new ideas and products.
