The Tangsa tribe is an indigenous ethnic group primarily found in the northeastern part of India and in parts of Myanmar (Burma). Tangsa people wear distinctive traditional clothing, which varies among sub-tribes. Men typically wear loincloths and headgear, while women wear short skirts and blouses, often adorned with intricate beadwork.

The Tangsa celebrate several traditional festivals, the most prominent being "Wihu Kuh" (a harvest festival) and "Mol" (a New Year festival). These festivals are marked by singing, dancing, and communal feasting

Traditionally, the Tangsa practiced animism, worshipping natural elements and ancestors. However, over time, many have converted to Christianity, particularly in India. In Myanmar, Buddhism also has some influence.

The Tangsa primarily practice shifting cultivation (jhum) and are involved in agriculture, growing crops like rice, maize, and millet. They also engage in hunting, fishing, and weaving.
