Democrat senator says Americans will be ‘shocked’ by report into Trump assassination attempt

Democrat Senator Richard Blumenthal has revealed Americans will be “shocked” and “appalled” by a report into Donald Trump’s assassination attempt.

Lawmakers are expected to release an interim report on the attempted assassination of the former president’s life during a rally in Pennsylvania.

The report is said to expose the security failures of those implicated in protecting former president Trump.

On Thursday, acting Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe provided a behind-closed-doors update on the attempted assassination investigation.

Following the behind-closed-doors meeting, Blumenthal spoke to Fox News about what will be found in the report.

“I think the American people are going to be shocked, astonished and appalled by what we will report to them about the failures by the Secret Service in this assassination attempt on the former president,” he said.
